The 3 Maths Strategies

Strategy 1: Split 

47 + 51= ?

How to Split:

Split the tens, then add them and find the answer.

40 + 50 =  90 

Then add the ones and find the answer.

7 + 1 =  8 

Then add both answers together and find what your answer will be. 

90 + 8 = 98

So your answer is 98.

Strategy 2: Compensation

59 + 44 = ?

How to Compensate: 

First, you keep the first number normal and round the other number to the nearest ten and find the answer.
59 + 40 = 99

Then add how many you took away from 44 and then you will know what your answer is.
99 + 4 = 103

So your answer will be 103. 

Strategy 3: Jump

89 + 12 = ?

How to do Jump:

First, prepare your number line.

Then, put the number 89 on the number line.

 

After that, jump 10 steps or 1 jump for ten. If you are doing another sum with this strategy, jump as many times the bigger number tells you to.

Then you jump to the ones. 

 So the answer is 102.

New Years Harmony Day!!!

On Harmony Day , I was in the school hall with my friend to see the African Drumming. First, we had a turn on the drums. Our hands were in pain after that. The we did crazy dances to  the african drummers playing the drums. My  friend and I shouted "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" to each other! After that our ears got blocked because of  how loud it was! My friend thought that the drumming was the fireworks! He thinks that nearly everything are fireworks! Even when we Play Kick Ball he thinks that when someone kicks the ball a firework explodes! Even when he plays Bus Simulator 2015 he thinks each crash is a firework! This happens a lot because he likes celebrating New Years and even thinks that some days are New Years Eve and some days are New Years Day! Even I sometimes do this with him!
